Joanna Baird was born and raised near Sacramento, CA where she was first introduced to music. She grew up playing the piano from the age of 6 and has been centering her life around music ever since. She was trained in a variety of styles, although her first love was classical music. Throughout her pre-college studies, she also gained a vast knowledge of church music, and has been playing professionally in churches since the age of eighteen. She graduated with a degree from Azusa Pacific University in Piano Performance, where she had the privilege to study under Dr. Joel Clifft and Dr. Andrew Park, who were both deeply instrumental in her growth as a pianist. Most recently, she had the opportunity to perform in prestigious venues such as Haydn Hall and Carnegie Hall. She currently studies under the tutelage of Nina Scolnik, while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Collaborative Piano at the University of California, Irvine. She additionally has a passion for teaching, and continues to work with students of all ages to foster their growth at the piano.
